The District of Oak Bay website was redesigned to deliver a more modern, accessible, and efficient online experience for residents, visitors, and local businesses. The new site features clear navigation, mobile-friendly design, and quick access to essential services such as permits, council meetings, community events, and emergency alerts. Reflecting Oak Bay’s unique character and coastal charm, the design integrates visual elements inspired by the local environment, while ensuring information is easy to find and presented in plain language.

This project focused on improving user experience through streamlined content, a logical site structure, and enhanced accessibility in compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Special attention was given to tools for civic engagement, such as online forms, service requests, and interactive maps. The result is a reliable and intuitive platform that supports transparent governance, encourages community participation, and helps the District of Oak Bay better serve its residents in a digital-first world.
